FAQs Updated Wednesday, Apr 23, 2008Q: How many accounts will a club have?
A: Each club will be provided two accounts, Primary and Umpire account. Only the Primary account can change the passwords for both the accounts. Please do not share the user id/passwords with anyone who doesn't need to have, specially guard the primary account. Any logged in member can add/update highlights/scoresheets.
Q: How can I change my Password?
A: Upon login, click on Users menu, then open your record by clicking Edit and you should see Change Password button at the bottom of the screen. Note that secondary club contacts (umpire) and independent umpire cannot change the password.
Q: How do we register player electronically?
A: The Primary club contacts can login and register a new player. Upon login, click on Home and then Team Roster, click Register New Player button and follow the instructions. The office bearers will automatically be notified via email of the new registration. A list of suspended players will be shown on top of the Team Roster and Match highlights screen for logged on members, please do not register a suspended player, there will be penalties/fines if a suspended player is played in a game.
Q: How can I get a proof that I registered a player before 9 AM on game day.
A: Try and register the player before the game day, however if you do register the player before 9 AM on the game day, you can print the Team roster and show it to the umpire as a proof of electronic registration. This option is available under Home - Team Roster -> Print Team Roster.
Q: How can I upload pictures of team members?
A: Primary account holders can upload the photos of team members from Users menu -> Member Photos screen. Be sure to downsize the photo to be within 15KB and 100 * 150 size. You can use MS Paint to resize an image.
Q: How can I enter/update Match Highlights?
A: Match highlights need to be entered by Monday morning by the umpire. Login with the Umpire account and go to Highlights/Scoresheets and Add/Update the necessary Match Highlight. Be sure to mention if any disciplinary issues were taken.
Q: How can enter/update scoresheet online?
A: Login with the Umpire account and go to Highlights/Scoresheets. Open up the appropriate game and enter the Batting/Bowling details for each inning.
Q: When will League Standing be updated?
A: League standings are updated automatically when the match highlights are entered, which is by Monday morning.
Q: When will Player statistics be updated?
A: Player statistics gets automatically calculated when the scoresheet is entered.
Q: The scorecard/player statistics don't look right, who do I contact?
A: Contact any of the PCL office bearers.
Q: Upon login, some times I don't see the options I am authorized to see.
A: This is a known issue, if you logout and login again, it should be fine. This will be fixed shortly.
Q: How often are the Cricket News RSS updated?
A: The RSS feed is updated daily at midnight automatically. You can always refresh it live by clicking on the RSS icon.
Q: Where can I see previous year statistics?
A: Check the archives link, we will keep updating this as time permits.
Q: Can I send emails from the website?
A: Upon login, go to Users menu and select Send Mail. You can send emails to any of the PCL office bearers.
Q: Why scrolling logos for member clubs?
A: This gives us the flexibility to add more clubs as we grow every year. Besides it looks neat. We might implement this differently as we become aware of newer technologies. If you have ideas, let us know.
Q: Why doesn't the scrolling club logos don't show up on all pages?
A: The scrolling club logos show up currently on the home page only to save bandwidth. This might change in future.
Q: I have registered a new player in the Team Roster, who played a match, however I don't see his name in the score sheet entry players dropdown?
A: The players for the score sheet entry is maintained separately by the admin users of the website. This is so that the statistics don't get messed up when a player leaves a club or transfers. Contact the office bearers and they will be able to add the team member so they show up for scoresheet entry.
Q: Do we need to inform of any disciplinary issues during a match to the office bearers?
A: An email is automatically sent to the office bearers if disciplinary flag is checked during match highlights entry. |
